will it only remains for us to thank you for your good offices to that estate. Dr. Nicholas's part of the tobo. [tobacco] in right of his wife's dower has been for some time engaged for the security of a considerable sum of money, advanced to him, nineteen hhds [hogsheads] of which we have sent you in the Burwell as was directed by our father before his death.

The tobacco shipt [shipped] you this year was follows

In Malbon [RC] 21 hhds stemm'd [stemmed]

in Loney. .[MRC] 9 hhds stemm'd [stemmed]

ditto....[RC] 12 hhds stemm'd [stemmed]

ditto....[RC] 11 hhds Leaf

in Spotswood [RC?] 10 hhds stemme' Rippon Crop

in Cant....19 hhds Burwell's marks as mentiond [mentioned] above

By which you will be able to make an estimate how far the present export falls short of last years and this crop on the ground affording but a very poor prospect, we cant but hope the price of tobo. [tobacco] will be advanced. We are well assured our father never suffered by broken accounts from you and unless you are under an agreement to make good your sales for the 2 1/2 Pr.Ct. [percent] which we doubt not you will be ingenuous in acquainting us with. We do hereby agree to allow you a commission of three prCent [percent] on all tobos. [tobaccos] sold hereafter which tho' a thing never insisted on by any considerable mercht. [merchant] till about ten years past we must rather submit to than be exposed to misfortunes that have fallen on many in this Country.

The above tobos are consigned to you as agreeable to our fathers intentions as we could discover, & we think they ought to go recommended as very good having all past [passed] our publick [public] inspection we shall no[t] add any further, but conclude

Gentlemen

Your most humble servants
