Foster Cunliffe Esq:

Sir, Williamsburgh Nov.3.1737

I have writ so many Letters Concerning the Antilopes Cargo, that I am ashamed to write any more without compleating the Account. I have herewith inclosed six setts of Bills of exchange amounting to two hundred forty nine pounds, sixteen shillings & seven pence sterling all that I have been able to get in; the accot. of sale of the Rum & sugar imported in the Antilope & two Accot. current the first closed but the last standing open and according to my Promise will send the remainder next year if any shall be then due on this account. In the meantime I hope my tobbaco now sent you by the Stannage, may be sold and applied to this accot., and I am also willing that the money I have in your hands upon my Bill on Mr. Athawes or otherwise may be applied to the same Purpose. You have here inclosed Bills of Loading for seven and forty hogsheads of tobacco seven of which belong to my Nephew Robert Carter an infant, and the rest are to be accounted for to me. Two of the Negroes of the stannage Cargo were sold to Simon Sallard one of my cousin's overseers. I have therefore drawn on you for five and thirty pounds sterling to be charge that Accot. I have formerly written to you to charge 1/2 per cent for making good Bad Debts contracted for my tobo. which you refused; I am well satisfied you are as carefull in the matter as if you were to insure them, yet as it would make my estate more certain to me. I should be glad you would fix on some time of Credit, beyond which I should run no Risque. I think the case is left too much at Large, when a Considerable time
