[left page]
friends, and I told him that I have you appointed
a corresponding member of the International Society
of Anthropology & Antiquity of man.
I do not
know if you are aware of it, but your name
is on the list, since 1867, and is printed as such
in the meetings of Paris, London & Copenhagen.
I did it because I known your interest in
antiquities, and my friends Larteb & [de Morbiller?],
having consulted me, for the appointment of corresponding
members in the United States, I have given your
name.

I suppose your book on [Wiskonsin] is out now; if
so, I shall be very glad to have a copy, if you
can spare one.

If you come to Boston, please call at my house,
I shall be very glad to receive you.

[right page]

Very truly yours

Jules Marcou

address: 42, Garden St. Cambridge Mass.
