Wisconsin.

The State of Wisconsin, as her boundaries were finally established is included within the following limits : commencing in ^the middle of Lake Michigan, in north latitude forty = two degrees and thirty minutes ; thence north along the middle of the Lake, to a point opposite the main channel or entrance of Green Bay ; thence through said channel and Green Bay to the mouth of the Menomonee river ; thence up the channel of said river, on the East side of the islands to the Quinnesec falls ; thence on the west side of the islands to the river Brule' ; thence up the Brule' on the west and south side of the islands to Lake Brule' ; thence along the southern shore of that lake and in a direct line to the centre of the channel between Middle, and

South islands in the Lake of the Desert; thence in a direct line to the Montreal river at the junction of the two main branches near its source; thence down the main channel of that river to its mouth; thence in a ^direct line across towards the mouth of Pigeon river to the middle of Lake Superior; thence along the middle of Lake Superior to the mouth of the Saint Louis river ; thence up the main channel of said river to the first rapids ; thence due south to the main branch of the St. Croix river ; thence down the main channel of that river, and of the Mississippi, to the north line of the state of Illinois, in latitude forty two = degrees and thirty minutes ; thence due East to the place of commencement. It therefore embraces that part of the country lying extending from Lake Michigan on the East to the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers on the west,
