[right page] SUNDAY, JANUARY 1, 1865.
Stayed at home all day. Took Boney
& the pups for a run around the
clearing. In the afternoon Benny & Frank
Cronyn & Fred Glackmeyer came out to
Alick & left before 6 p.m. Snow very deep.
Asked the Governor to let me have an allowance
but he refused laughing at the idea.

MONDAY, 2.
In the morning drove Alick to the G.T.R
Station on his way to Laprairie.
After lunch drove the children into town
in the big sleigh. At the office the Governor
took my place & I went to the city hall to act
as check clerk for Glass. close of the polls first day
Glass was between 80 & 100 ahead.

TUESDAY 3.
Acted as check clerk in No 1 Ward
for Glass till luch time after which I
went into the office for the afternoon.
glass elected by 143 maj. great excitement.
Saw Mr McCormick in town.
Wrote to Alick after dinner & sent
him papers.
