To his Excellency
The President of the United States.

Dear Mr President.

I write to protest against
the practice of race discrimination
by our Federal Government as
shown by the orders recently issued
by the Bureau of Engraving and
Printing, by the Treasury, and
by the Post Office for the segregation
of colored employees in these
several departments.

In a Republic such as ours
the Government should recognize
no distinction of race or color among
its citizens and I beg that
you well exercise your powerful
