Mr. President:

The American General Benevolent Union of America, in its fourth annual
convention, held at Franklin Union Hall in Boston, on the third and fourth
instant, has passed the following resolution:

WHEREAS, the President of the United States of America has repeatedly
exerted benevolent influences before the Turkish Government for the
protection of the lives of the deported Armenians and also for the
relief of their immediate needs, be it

RESOLVED, that this convention expresses its heartiest appreciation and
gratitude to the President of the United States of America, and humbly
beg him to continue his good services for the fuller and real accomplishment
of his humanitarian purposes for the suffering and helpless Armenians,
and later exert his best services for the permanent relief and welfare
of the downtrodden race of the Armenians.
