May 7: Light variable winds & calm with fair weather first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light wind S.W. to moderate breeze N. West with rain. Sea smooth. General duties for day. Keeper & 1st asst went fishing. Steamer Willamette Valley arrived today from San Francisco.

8: Moderate breeze N. West these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours rain showers. Last part of 24 hours fair weather. Sea quite rough. Keepers painting on pickett fence around Keepers dwellings & tower. 1st asst also working on road. 2nd asst planting potatoes.

9: Light N. West to East wind first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light variable winds and calm with fair weather during 24 hours. Sea moderately smooth. Keepers painting on pickett fence and painted store & chicken house.

10: Light variable wind & calm with little damp weather first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light to moderate and fresh breeze N. West with clear fine weather. Sea quite smooth. Keepers painted the barn & 1st asst quarters. 2nd asst working the road this afternoon. 1st asst. went to Newport after mail.

11: Light North wind with dry fair weather first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours moderate to fresh breeze S. West with some fog. Sea smooth. Keeper painting on the Keepers dwelling. Keeper went fishing today. Steamer Willamette Valley sailed today.

12: Moderate breeze South to light West & N. West first part of 24 hours with light rain showers. Last part of 24 hours fresh and strong breeze N. West fair weather. Sea quite rough. Keepers finished painting Keepers dwelling today.

13: Moderate breeze N.W. to light East wind with clear fine weather first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours moderate breeze South - foggy weather. Sea smooth. Keeper & 2nd asst went trout fishing up north beach. Had one visitor.

14: Fresh to moderate breeze South these 24 hours first part of 24 hours light rain showers - Last part of 24 hours fair weather - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - Had three visitors today.

15: Calm to light S. East wind with fair weather first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours moderate to fresh breeze S. E. to South with light rain - Sea little rough - Keeper and 2nd Asst went to Newport after the mail and to get supplies - Received a damper pipe from L. H. Engineer - Keeper & 2nd asst painted dome parapet & (stairs???) of tower black today.

16: Light South wind and calm these 24 hours first part of 24 hours light rain showers - Last part of 24 hours fair weather - Sea a little rough - The barometer stands 29.74 today - Keepers working on the road today.

17: Light variable winds with light rain showers first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours moderate breeze South with rain - Sea quite smooth - General duties for the day - Keeper went fishing - The barometer stands 29.82.

18: Moderate breeze S. West first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours moderate to fresh breeze S. W. & S with frequent rain showers during 24 hours - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - The barometer stands 29.90 today -Keeper went over to Newport to have chimney pipes repaired - 1st asst went to Newport to see a Doctor Smith about his eye there seam to be something in it. 1st asst left the station at 1 P.M. Steamer Willamette arrived today.

19: Moderate breeze to light S. to S. East wind with light rain showers first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours moderate to fresh breeze South with hard rain - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - Keeper went fishing today.

20: Light S. to S. East wind with frequent rain showers first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light west wind fair weather - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - Keeper went fishing - 1st asst returned to station from Newport at 2 P.M. where he went to see the Doctor about his eye - The Doctor advised him to go to Portland and have an operation performed on it. Steamer Willamette sailed for Sanfrancisco - A tug came up from Sanfrancisco to tow the Alac Blanchard to Sanfrancisco and left Yaquina today at 4:30 P.M.
