2nd mo. 1862
Dear Wm.
Though I have written to thee
once this week - getting thy letter
containing twenty dollars on third
day evening - I concluded thee would
like to hear of its safe arrival - Tho.
has exchanged it at the bank & says he
will allow thee interest on it, as soon
as he can put it to use - which will
be before long - We are having
an abundance of snow this winter
& the wind is also doing a great deal
it is hard keeping the roads passa-
ble - we go to meeting through the
east village & have for a month -
Balon is to lecture tonight
& I fear he will not get a full house
which has been the case almost every
time- When Coleby came & saw so
