thing large enough for James to wear
when he came home - as he expects
to go back, he did not bring many of
his clothes - I think perhaps thy
clothes that are partly worn may as
well be used as to lie til thee comes
back, when we will try to make it
all right - I washed thy shawl
soon after thee went away and it
looked as good as new - & when I went
to Ferrisburgh I wore it to ride in
& found it quite an entire defence
against the cold - thy mother
