Stern sea all night last night and
rolled like a ______. Floating Jap mine
passed us during middle watch. Rolled
around all day am getting a bit sick of it.

29/3/45
Good night last night as sea has
settled down a bit. Sighted ballon
during afternoon but could make
nothing of it. Wind changed about
during first dog so we have a head
sea tonight and as usual it is rain-
ing. Could arrive at Leyte tomor-
row night weather permitting.

Sea changed again during first
watch to a stern sea and was it rough
everything on the mess deck that was
breakable was broken. Too rough for
work so all turned into our hammock
