Mr Edward Athawes

Rappahk. [Rappahanock] May 22.1736

Sir,

It was some loss to the Owners of the Little Betty that she was not Insured the last voyage. Having sustained much damage by the Carrying away her Masts and Rigging in her passage to Virginia from Liverpole she is now refitting here for another voyage to Liverpole and therefore that we may have some security for the dangers of the sea in this voyage I desire for my self & the rest of the Owners, that twelve hundred pounds may be immediately insured on the vessel & cargo home & what Mr Cunliffe shall think proper when she comes back.

I have this day drawn on you to Mr Simon Sallard General Overseer of my Nephews Estate for twenty five pounds sterling in here Payment of his salary which I desire you to Pay & place to Accot.[account] of the Sd. Estate. I shall write proper answers to your in July at which I hope to send you sixty odd hhds [hundreds] of that Estates Tobacco & twenty of my own.

I am
