night flying exercise from Ardmore. The aircraft called
up asking for permission to land but failed to return to its
base and Flight Sergeant Ferrick was classified as missing.
Nothing further was heard of either the aircraft or the pilot,
and in due course his death was officially presumed to have
occurred on the 15th April 1945
