–4th waggon got back & began to Plow & weed corn back of Garden

5. moderate weather

6. Plowing & weeding corn back of Garden Plowing lot by prize barn etc about House & Plowed corn by prize Barn this evening

7. Planting Tobacco on Branch & little lot by Granary this day This day is very cool morning sitting by fires, finishing weeding mountain field corn this morning & then for Drill corn here at home

8 weeding & Plowing cornnearly all our cowsBulling

9 Plowing & weeding corn at stony point

10 Rained a little to day & we replanted new ground & a little in second yrs land & began to plant Lot by Henrys House weather has been remarkable cool for time of year, wheat good & oats, nearly done weeding corn it is said there waslast weekfrost

11th fair day & warmer — this evening Planted Johns Branch in Tobacco

13 Plowing & weeding corn at stony point began to work Tobacco in new ground this morning very cool indeed Finished weeding corn this day

14th Very cool indeed, & dry. hilling up Sweet Potatoes & working Peas etc & cotton

15 Finished Potatoes Peas & cotton weeding Tobacco.

1848 June 15. began to Lay by corn with Plows yesterday on Hill by cotton Patch - Plowing fresh ground Tobacco this weather dry & cool night

16 - Spayed & altered 21 shoats yesterday Scattering manure in Lot & Plowing for Tobacco. Very dry & warm & ground hard, laying by corn up on the Branch above house, weeding Tobacco in big new ground — Lost 2 Turkey & young oneHens

18. Sunday like for Rain but did -

19. began to cut wheat to day - weed– =ing down Tobacco in little new ground not plowing much more till after harvest Mrs Hunt Sick & my wife gone there no Rain yet to do any corn

21 Weeding Tobacco & Laying by corn at home, several little showers Rain for a day or Two but not to do any good weather very dry — yet (12 oclock

22. Finished cutting wheat yesterday Last of stacks in Fresh ground over the drain next to Barn 111 or 112 stacks this way first cleaning 68 69 stacks in the old Land next to Mr Lewis’s in Johns field stacks - finished Lay by corn at home by 12 oclock.
