Ps. [Psalm] 16 = 22 = 132:11 =

"I gave my back to t. [the] smiters, & my cheeks to them that plucked off t. [the] hair: I hid not my face from shame & spitting"~

Is. [Isaiah] 33, [centered] He foretold his own death – Must die to fulfil [fulfill] his own predic's [predictions].

"As Mos. [Moses] lift. [lifted] serp. [serpent] in wilderness" – "I will destroy this temple."

III Death of C [Christ] rendered his humiliation complete.

Had laid by the glories of the God-head – stooped fronts more

Taken the form & condition of man – born of woman.

The "form of a servant" – one in a low & menial condition –

Finally he was to bow even to death – & that an ignominious.

This was humiliation most com-plete – W'd [Would] not enemies triumph now?

IV C^s [Christ's] death essential to atone [atonement].

"Without shedding of blood no remission of sin." Blood of Bull & Goats can't take away sin" God economizes – C. [Christ] never suffered unless nec. [necessary] = this substance. All pardon effect of C^s death.

Reduced in heaven "washed robes & white"

All blessings traced back to this death.

Exhibited God's purity & justice – as well as love & mercy.

Awful & lovely both here – No greater proof of God's justice or mercy poss. [possible]

Intermingled display of holiness – compassion.

Nought [Nothing] else c'd [could] so have magnified t. [the] ? – not [nothing] else made an adeq [adequate] – expression of hate of sin, love of holiness.

Death of C. [Christ] glorified him then – as it (1) Fulfils [fulfills] Mos. [Moses'] dispers [dispersion] – " " [as it] (2) " [fulfills] Prophecy – " " [as it] (3) " [fulfills] Humiliation – " " [as it] (4) " [fulfills] the aton. [atonement] for sin. ~ "For the suff. [suffering] of death crowned with glory & honor" – He humb. [humbled] himself xx wherefore G. [God] also hath higly [highly] exalted &c. [etc.]"

"For t. [the] joy set before him endured the cross" –.

It became him for whom are all things ....to make t. [the] Capt. [Captain] of their salvation perfect thru [through] sufferings.

"After he offered one sac. [sacrifice] for sins forever & at rt [right] hand of God. expect enemies put under feet.

By what strong ties of gratitude are we bound to C. [Christ] What render? Look Honor on Laws. ~ 2 [centered]

Boasting in the [cross] [crucifixion] of C. [Christ] shows our love & admiration. ~ 3 [centered]

See what we must do to be exalted with C. [Christ] If we suffer with him we shall also.
