had a line from any one in his family since
last December and he is nearly beside himself
with anxiety. His mother gets frequent letters
from him in all of which he laments not
hearing from them. Another case is that of Dr. Edie
who married an old friend of mine. He is a Lieuten
-ant Colonel – he left here over four months ago &
went right over. He too is nearly beside himself at
at not getting any word from his home. Their
letters come here with regularity. I trust I am
not too late in sending this. Well, dear old Edward
we wish the greatest good luck in the world to come
