dear brave little mother
telling us of your departure.

It was a comfort to her as
it must have been to you that
she could stay as long as she
did. She tells me that there
was some prospect of your seeing
Dick. It would be great if he
can come to see you.

Lesley has received his commiss-
-ion as no doubt you have heard
already. But now he is going
to Texas where he will not have
to fly for a month. I'd be
glad if he would abandon the
flying – though he is a boy of
such an equable temperament
and possessed of such self control
that the danger for him is not so
great as for those who are more
nervous and excitable.
