is preparing for another voyage
to the Antarctic region.

May & Gerald hear [here] just
this afternoon received a letter
from their son Will or Bud as
they call him from France. They
had been three weeks without a
line and were very anxious but
he was well and happy so their
minds are relieved.

I have been trying to think of
something to tell you Edward dear.
The town however is unusually quiet.
Many soldiers are here often
but not this week that I can
see. I told your Aunt Anna that
you had gone East knowing that if she
knew where to find you she would go to see
you. I wish she could. Adieu my dear.
