The funny part of it
is I didn't have a "sow"
when I started. I certainly
have a good "uncle" to
take me all that distance
brake. I didn't get sick
at all, and was on the
water [censored] days. The
convoy was fired on
twice by a torpedo and the ship I was
on picked up a [censored]
They claim we missed
it by about thirty
feet. I was disappointed
at not seeing a U-boat.

Have done quite a
little treking from the
trains to the boats and
camp. The packs got
pretty heavy but I
made it O.K. Very few
of the men fell out. We
are all soft after being
