notibles [notables] spoke, including a representative
of the British War Envoy to America.
A joint banquit [banquet] of both the
British & French Envoys was held
at the same time on the same
floor as ours at the hotel. Tried
to get Major Joffre to speak
to us but was unsuccessful.
