you to enjoy some of the times like
we used to have. I often lay awake
and think of Thursday and Sun-
day and wonder what you may
be doing. Just imagine me sitting
on my bunk writing letters on a
Sunday afternoon. Dear give my
best regards to your uncle and
aunt. Also the folks down at
Redwood City. Hoping you are all
happy and enjoying the best of
health. With much true love
and many kisses and a big hug
from your lonesome soldier boy.
Hienie.

There is some writing, diagonal, at the bottom of this page that I can't quite transcribe.

California State Library

Thank you for assisting with the transcription, we really appreciate the help. I think it might be the signature of the censor who read the letter but it is very hard to read.

A few pages further, I notice a censor's (legible) signature and realized that was likely what I was seeing, but I wanted to make sure you knew! Happy to help--it's a nice way to pass the time. Happy new year!
