It is raining to day and the weath-
er is very gloomy. The rain has stopped
the ball game for to day and tomorrow.
We have an entertainment every week
in our mess hall with refreshments,
but I missed the last one because I
was out on duty. The clocks were all
put ahead one hour here so we are
really getting up at five oclock
instead of six oclock. They have
been put ahead so as to gain one
more hour of day light.

I wrote to your uncle and aunt
last week and also to your folks
in Redwood City. I sent a card to
Leo but have not received any reply
from him so far. Have you taken
