Tues
MARCH 5.
A nice day again and quite warm.
We hauled a load of stone and 5 loads of dirt in
the forenoon and some more work besides
and in the afternoon Lew got a load of gravel
and I went to Mr Giddings's with Mother
and got 800 lbs of early rose potatoes. It
seemed as though we could do lots of work
under the new administration of Gen Ben.

MARCH 6. Wed
Clear still and warm. Lew went to the hills to take a good look at his claim. I chored around in the forenoon and in the afternoon
I worked in the shop at the upright piece for the wagon rack. Lew got home and is tolerable well pleased with his claim.
