OCTOBER 7.
Nice again. Lew and I finished
getting the hay out of the piece East of the
lake in the forenoon and in the
afternoon we hauled corn from the piece
of new breaking that Lew broke last
spring. We got out 2 loads and there is
two loads yet to get off from the piece.

OCTOBER 8.
Very nice again to day. Lew and I went to
hauling corn just got one load when
machine came. I finished clearing the field and
turned the cows into it in the forenoon
and husked corn in the afternoon. The machine got
along very well after they got started. They got about
30 bushels out and the threshers say that it
is the best they have threshed this year.
