Wed Feb 12 Clear and very nice. I irrigated the ballance [balance] of the orchard and pretty near made a headgate. Dave went up to see Will Dixon and has not got home yet.

Thurs Feb 13 Rather a cold blustering day. Dave went to town and took over the butter and eggs. I worked at making head gates. Doctor Miller came out to see Mothers arm. He took the bandage off and thinks it is not necessary to put it on again.

Friday Feb 14 St Valentines day Clear so that the woodchuck could see his shadow all day and it was quite warm too. Lew has not got back yet. Dave didnt do much. I fixed a place to feed the calves separate up at Windy hill and then made a headgate. The little black sow has six pigs and I dont think that she is satisfied with her little family yet.

Sat Feb 15th Fine again to day. Lew got home a little afternoon with some of the old man Casey house roof and some lumber. The sow has 7 pigs now. Lost one. I made another headgate and we fixed up a place to put the hay rack upon. Dave seems to be sort of Grippy yet.

Sun Feb 16 Quite a nice day but not alltogether clear. We all kept Sunday at home. Charleys folks came out and we had a nice visit.

Mon Feb 17 Another one of them old windy days but not very cold. This forenoon we fixed the wagon and the harness too some and this afternoon the boys worked Dandy and Nell hauling manure. Got out 6 loads. I put in a couple of head gates down below the house but didnt get the last one finished quite.

Tues Feb 18 Cloudy mostly but quite a nice day. The boys hauled manure. I finished puttting in the head gates that I had made.

Wed Feb 19 Some clear and some cloudy but not very cold. Mother and I went to town to visit Charleys folks that is about all we done. [vertical in center of page:] Saw the new pump too.

Thurs Feb 20 About like yesterday and we visited and loafed around the best that we could. Lew come down from the ranch just at night. O yes I visited the college in the afternoon and took it all in escorted by Mr Lagrange.

Friday Feb 21 Mostly clear and rather cool. Such a time as we had celebrating Washingtons birthday. No 1 We visited the kindergarten school in the forenoon and seen the little tots perform and speak their little slips of pieces and in the afternoon we went to the other school house and was pleased to see the scholars rehearse their pieces. It was very well done too.
