Mon Feb 24 Rather a nice old day only a little raw in the morning. Lew and I fixed the hen house and we put eave troughs to the grainery where it was over the hen house. Dave went off somewhere with Franck Neece. I guess that he went home with him.

Tues Feb 25 It has been quite cold to day and to night it is real sharp. Dave has not got home yet. Lew has put in the day a choring around at one thing and another. I have been amused by pretty unmistakeable Lagrippe symptoms and have kept pretty close to the stove.

Wed. Feb 26th Snowed about an inch to day and about zero in the morning but moderated a little during the day. Lew done up the chores but that kept him busy most of the time. Dave still away and me still of no account to speak of.

Thurs. Feb. 27th. Found about 2 inches of snow on the ground this morning and our thermometor marking 12° below zero and the Carier [Carrier] says that it was 20° below at Collins. Dave came home to day and Lew started for the hills to bring home the cattle. I am improving some but as long as it keeps so cold I shall keep pretty near the fire.

Friday Feb. 28 Cold to day [today] about 8 below this morning and clear and cold all day. Lew came down with the cattle. Got home about 3 O clock. Dave met him at Collins and helped him the ballance [balance] of the way. I sold the alfalfa seed to Mr Kugh to day [today] for 5 cts per pound.

Sat. March 1. Rather nice and a little warmer. Lew hauled a couple of small loads of hay from windy hill. Dave Mother and I went to town. I found that Mr Kugh expected us to bring in the alfalfa see so we will have to do it Monday.
