Sat July 5 Pretty fair on an
average had a little shower about
noon. Lew and Burdick hauled a load
of hay but it was too damp. They turned
it over but it didnt get dry enough
to haul. I mowed a while this
forenoon and we ground a pair
of sickles and Burdick cultivated
the patches about here and Lew shod
old Nell and I shocked a while.
Burdick commenced work this
morning at $1.25 pr [per] day.

Sun July 6 Nice but pretty hot.
Lew Mrs Bartlett Marnie and Meda
went to Rough and Ready Ranch.
Dave got home about 2 O clock.
I filled the cistern etc.
