Sun May 1st Cloudy in the
morning but cleared up and was quite
nice. Lew trained Prince some
to day and likes him pretty well.
Mother and I went up to John
Dragers to see little Grace found
them all doing pretty well.
Coming back we stopped at Mr
Hoags and got some seed potatoes
about a bushel part Early
Ohio and part Rose seedings.

Mon May 2 A cloudy cool
[lowry?] day but didnt rain enough
to keep us from work. We all
planted some rose seedling some
early Ohio and some snow flake
potatoes after the boys had cleaned
out the cistern in the afternoon.
I prepared slips and the boys
hauled 5 loads of manure and
put it on to the west side
of the lower orchard.
