Wed May 11 Cloudy and dismal all day. Lew went to town brought out Aunt Sarah and Margaret. Mr Foot and Kib laid some walks. I done nothing. The result of our meeting last night was that all were opposed to letting the Larimer Co Ditch Co have any hold in our ditch.

Thurs May 12 Another about such a day as we have been having of late. Mr Foot and Kib and Lew this afternoon. This forenoon Lew and I finished the fence over on the hill and brought home the posts that were left some twenty 4 or 5.

Fri May 13 A nasty cold rainy drizzling sort of a day. We all done nothing to day and done it well too.

Sat May 14 Cloudy and cool in the morning but did not rain and got cleared off a bout [about] sundown and some of the folks think that there will be a frost to night that will kill the fruit prospect but I hope for better things after all the drawbacks that we have had. Lew went to town and brought out Mrs Bartlett. Mr Foot and Kib took the hay out of the barn loft for the cows and brought down some of the native hay for the horses. I painted some of the windows and done other chores etc.

Sun May 16 Very fine day for once. We all kept Sunday in various ways riding around visiting and looking at the reservoirs etc.

Mon May 16 Cloudy most of the time with one warm streak of a couple of hours in the forenoon and tolerable cool most of the rest of the day. Lew drilled in oats up on the windy hill place. I sowed over a small piece of oats and Kib harrowed the ballance [balance] of the day. we all three Mr Foot Kib and me worked at the timber claim which made just about two good full days _____2.

Tues May 17 Clear and nice only the wind kept up a howling all day. Lew finished drilling in the oats and then plowed in slips the rest of the day and Mr Foot and I worked at 1 1/2 slips all day. 2 Kib harrowed oat ground all day. Mr Parkinson and another man are here for supper breakfast and lodging.

Wed May 18 Clear and nice only a little too windy by spells. Lew went up to Spring Canion [Canyon] to put in some alfalfa seed etc. Kib finished harrowing in the oats. Mr Foot helped on the ditch for Mr somebody in the forenoon and in the afternoon he went to town and has not got back yet. I set slips most of the day and cut and prepared the rest of the day.

Thurs May 18 Cold and 1 windy. Foot went to town yesterday and rode Dexter and this morning he had not got home Nar Deck [Near Dark?] so we went over to see what had happened and hunted the town pretty thoroughly and found the horse at Morgans stable but no Foot. In fact after we had found the horse I felt to [too] tired to look for any bodies. Foot Kib and I worked at cutting up slips and setting them. Started the water 1 to running on the alfalfa over on the hill.

Fri May 20 The Devils own day only pretty cold for that but the wind blew hard enough to fan any kind of a fire. Lew has not got back yet. Kib and I set slips all day commenced to irrigate the 2 little meadow to day. Our first irrigating and we got 20 inches to the share. Lew got home late.

Sat May 21 Cold and cloudy in the morning and sprinkled a few sprinks but cleared off and was a very nice day. Mrs Barttell Mrs Bitner and Margaret went to Greeley to day. Lew took them over and brought out a load of coal. Kib and I set slips done about 3/4 of a day each. I am still irrigating at home and at windy hill. I get 20 inches to the share from the Larimer co ditch and they are running about 300 inches into Long Pond.
