Sun May 22 As lovely as possible clear bright warm and sunshiny. We kept Sunday some. I irrigated a little on the nature meadow on the windy hill place and find that I got along pretty slow with only 20 inches of water but we would all have quite a bit more if the rascally scamps did not keep running quite a stream into Long Pond as much as 5 or 600 inches. I should think to day.

Mon May 23 Nice again to day. We finished irrigating the natural meadow and finished setting slips on the timber claim and commenced to irrigate the piece East of the lake. The water is gaining a little and I have 28 inches to the share. They stopped running water into Long Pond this morning. 3 of us made a short forenoon and 2 about 2 hours in the afternoon. 2

Tues May 24 Pretty fair day threatened rain quite a bit but didnt rain much here. Lew and Kib set slips below the orchard. I irrigated all over the 10 acre piece but the water is nearly out of the ditch I dont know why.

Wed May 25 Quite quite a nice day and real warm. Lew and Kib finished setting slips below the orchard and plowed some ground for corn and peas and harrowed it and gathered the raspberry bushes off the orchard and started the water on to the slips. I put the screens to the windows and trimmed the raspberry bushes and some other odd little chores. I heard to day that some head gate up at some reservoir had partly washed out as usual hindering people about irrigating like everything.

Thurs May 26 Clear and pretty warm. The boys hauled manure and plowed and harrowed a strip between two rows of trees. I planted the peas and shelled some sweet corn and irrigated below the orchard on the slip claim. The water is in the Larimer Co ditch again to night but I dont expect to get any until tomorrow noon. 2 1/2 days lost.

Fri May 27 Nice only we had a little shower of rain and hail about 5 O clock. Lew and Kib branded the big calves and hauled off the one that died from alfalfa last night. I irrigated mostly but planted a little sweet corn. Got 10 inches to the share though there was a good lot in the ditch but that must go to the lower end to sell more land. Jake Sheats was here to day and wants to get some fish and I guess he will get them.

Sat May 28 Quite a pretty day only the wind kept up a howl about all day. Lew and Kilb hauled manure and plowed harrowed and planted three spaces between rows. I irrigated below the orchard and this afternoon I got plenty of water and am putting it on to the ten acre piece east of the lake in good shape.

Sun May 29 Quite nice to day. Lew and Mary went to Mr Gills funeral and Kib went to church and brought out the mail. I have been irrigating to day with 30 inch rations from the Larimer Co ditch but had plenty from our own ditch and I am irrrigating on the alfalfa north of the house.

Mon May 30 It began to drizzle about ten O clock AM and got to raining quite hard by noon and kept it up all of the afternoon and a good part it just poured. We started in to set the slips around on the west and south side of the lake. Got along quite satisfactory until noon. I surveyed the levels for the tree ditches and then worked at cleaning out the ditch to irrigate them. Parkison turned out lots of water for Long Pond and shut me down to about 17 or 18 to the share.

Tues May 31 Pretty fair day. Lew Mother and I went to town this forenoon and Kib cut weed and sprouted potatoes. This afternoon we all put in slips up by the windy hill lake and worked at ditches. The reservoir and supply jackasses act some like putting a bridge across the ditch to night.
