Wed Aug 17 Clear mostly but sprinkled a little towards night. This forenoon we bound the swarth that was cut around the pieces of oats and bound and set up the little piece near the road. This afternoon I mowed mostly but attended to the irrigating north of the house and had lots of shovelling to do in the lake to get the water out. Kib set a hitching post and done other chores.

Thurs Aug 18 A little cooler to day and didnt sprinkle until we were a milking to night. Mr Farrer was here to day cutting oats. Kib set up oats for a business and I mowed for a business in the orchard mostly but cleaned out the door yard and other places too. Our mountaineers have not come back to civilization yet.

Sun Aug 21 Cool in the morning but warm enough through the middle of the day. Most of the folks sort of kept Sunday. I had to attend to the irrigating which kept me busy most of the day. I went over to our bees and got the privilege of running the water into the lake to night and may be that will help me out of my present snap.

Lew mowed this forenoon and this afternoon half soled his shoe etc. Kib went to town this morning with Mrs Bartlett and Mrs Bisnell and this afternoon he helped set up oats. I set up oats all day except awhile at noon that I visited with Mrs VP Wilson Mrs Winsler and Etta Dotts who were here when we came to dinner.
