Tues Aug 23 Mostly clear and threatened rain some but a pretty nice day after all. Lew mowed he finished the 10 acre piece just quitting time. Kib raked the south half of it. I fixed the fence and grain yard some and finished the irrigating this forenoon and this afternoon I shocked on the 10 acre piece.

Wed Aug 24 Fine only pretty warm some of the time. I mowed with Dom and Beauty and cut the two pieces near the house and as for as the ditch on the big piece. Lew shocked on the 10 acre piece. Kib raked and bunched and finished the 10 acre piece and then went up to the windy hill county ready to make a start in the morning.

Thurs Aug 25 Pretty nice day for general purposes but an especial good hay day. Lew shocked this forenoon and mowed this afternoon. Kib raked all day on the windy hill place. I mowed this forenoon and this afternoon I went to town and had quite a lot of business to do at noon. I hired two men to help us awhile at hauling hay and grain.

Fri Aug 26 Nice and clear but pretty warm. Lew and Charley stacked wheat. Kib raked alfalfa on the windy hill place. Fred worked at the stack yard this forenoon and I mowed and this afternoon him and I shocked.

Sat Aug 27 Fine on an average but the wind blew awful for a little while about noon and scattered the hay all around and blowed bundles of oats as much as two rods. It blowed part of the top off of one stack and it like to have blowed Meda out.

We all done various kinds of work. The boys got 4 loads of hay from the 10 acre piece and stacked it in the hay correll [corral].

Sun Aug 28 Cold and breezy all day. Lew went over to Carsends and got his mare and colt and took them up to Spring Canion [Canyon]. The rest of us kept Sunday somewhat. The two men that are working here hunted for ducks and rabbits and got 8 little ducks and one big one and one rabbit.

Mon Aug 29 Nice all day. The boys hauled hay got six loads from the 10 acre piece. Kib raked in the forenoon and in the afternoon he worked up at the dyke to the lake. I worked at the dyke in the forenoon and in the afternoon went to town to get an axeltree to the rake as the rake axle got broke. I got one that I guess will do. $1 50/100 [$1.50]
