Tues Sept 13 A beautiful day. Lew and Kib went up to Spring Canion [Canyon] ranch with some cattle. 41 head I think and they have not got home yet. I done a good many little jobs this forenoon and this afternoon I didnt do much.

Wed Sept 14 Awful nice day all day. This forenoon we all worked at the lake dyke. This afternoon Lew went to town with the cream and brought home some coal. Kib and I hauled some manure etc this afternoon. $3.50

Thurs Sept 15 A very nice day but most too cloudy for good hay weather. We all worked at the dyke with the team to day and got through just at quitting time. We had a little Frosty cow badly swelled by alfalfa. We gave her soda and vinegar and melted lard but had to knife her at last. $7

Fri Sept 16 Nice again to day. Lew and Kib hauled 4 loads of manure and put it on the strawberry patch. Mother and I went up to John Dragers. Found them all right. Then we went to Charley Pennocks. Got the promise of some strawberry plants tomorrow at Charleys.

Sat Sept 17 Pretty fair with a good part of the day cloudy. We all gathered crates for Jake Sheets. We got the briar sweets about all picked. We fixed up a box for Franks folks. We had some apples in it and some clothing etc. and I hope it will get through all right. Lew went to town after the strawberry plants but they were not there yet. Meda is quite under the weather. Dr Miller was out yesterday to see Mrs Pleasant and Meda. He thinks she is threatened with Typhoyd [Typhoid] fever.

Sun Sept 18 Pretty good day only mightly hot. We measured up the hay cut on the Larimer Place but have not figured it yet. Mr Buffom [Buffum] helped us. Johnny Golden was here to day and is here yet and so is Paul Wright. Mary McBride came out last night to help mother to take care of the sick and to do the work. Will go back tomorrow I suppose.

Mon Sept 19 Another nice day only pretty warm 98º at 2 O clock PM. We hauled manure this forenoon. Finished the strawberry and grape patch and finished cleaning out the cow corrall this afternoon. The boys fetched 2 loads of hay down from the Windy place to put into the stable loft. I trimmed raspbery and currant bushes after fixing the buggy.

Tues Sept 20 Quite a nice day and towards night it got to be terrible smoky. I trimed currant bushes. Lew worked at the strawbery patch and Kib helped him some of the time and the rest of the day he chored around. Mr Pennock came and brought the strawberry plants and got some specimens of different kinds of fruit from us for the fair at Denver.

Wed Sept 21 Good. We worked at the strawberry patch getting it ready and towards night we got to setting som [some]. Got a little over 150 set. Kib took the cream over to town. I guess that the invalids are a little better on an average but nothing to brag of.

Thurs Sept 22 Quite pretty but warm. Lew and Kib went up to Charley Pennocks to get some strawberry plants. Drove Tipsy. He drove fine. They got 1100 plants. Paid 10 dollars. Got home just before sundown. I worked at getting the little ditches ready for setting.

Fri Sept 23 Hot and Dry as ever. We all set strawberry plants. Ett was here to day [today]. She brought Eleven female chickens. Jess had a calf.

Sat Sept 24 Dry and hot and the wind blew some of the time quite freely. We finished setting the plants at noon and afternoon I done a little pruning and some irrigating etc. The boys hauled off the currant bushes that I trimmed off and unloaded that load of hay that they hauled the other day. Lew went to town then to get a little lumber etc.

Sun Sept 25 Hot dry and dusty. Lew went down after Ett on account of Ida's being sick but She got some better after the dr. [Dr.] got out here. All thre [three] of the Dotts girls were here and Kate and Grace went home last night. So did Mary and Aggie. Mr Snow and his daughter Lucy was here this evening and we had lots of good music.
