Mon Sept 26 Dusty hot dry. Lew and Kib worked at the fence running down to the big reservoir and I worked at an arrangement for irrigating the strawberry plants.

Tues Sept 27. Hot dry and dusty the thermometer marked 90° in the shade at 2 oclock PM. Lew and Kib finished the fence down below the orchard and then cleaned up the rubbish hung the west hay correll [corral] gate etc. I worked at the wooden ditch for irrigating the strawbery bed.

Wed Sept 28 Dry as ever. Lew cut the little piece of alfalfa north of the barn and him and Kib done various chores. I worked at the irrigating spout.

Thurs Sept 29 Very hot the thermometer marked 100° this afternoon at about 2 O clock. Lew and Kib hauled manure for a business. I cleaned out and doped the hen houses.

Fri Sept 30 The last day and hot and dry as ever. Lew and Kib hauled manure in the forenoon and in the afternoon Lew mowed over on the hill and Kib bunched and shocked the hay north of the barn. I trimmed briars down in the orchard. Harry and Annie Dixon and Mrs Will Stuart were here and got some fruit.

Sat Oct first Do as yesterday. Lew mowed this forenoon and this afternoon Lew and I went to town with the cream and to do some other business. Kib worked at raking and shocking over on the hill. I trimmed the rest of the raspberries this forenoon.

Sun Oct 2 Not quite so hot but just as dusty. Lew went this morning to meet Mrs Bartlett at Marys and take her up Rists Canion [Canyon] to see a stone and try to get Bud Wathan to take it to Bellvue for her for a stone to mark Mr Bartlett's and Marnies graves. The rest kept Sunday. Mrs Pleasant left this morning.
