Sat June 24 Hot and sunshiny most of the day. Lew and Kib hauled 5 loads of hay from the piece of alfalfa above the house. I irrigated what I could from the Larimer Co ditch but not with standing. The ditch was full 41 1/2 inches in the headgate north of the house. They pretended to give me 15 inches to the share. I dont think I had more than 30 or 35 inchs so it was very much up hill business to irrigate with that little bit. I went to town with the cream this forenoon and had a lot of errands to do over there. I irrigated the strawberries this afternoon and turned the water onto Mr Bristol at half past 3 O clock this afternoon but it was a mighty small quantity.

[horizontal from bottom of page on right side:] Turned the water to Mr Bristol at half past 3 this pm.

Sun June 25 Hot and dry as ever. I irrigated a little about the house and put bug poison on the potatoes. I put London purple dry on about ten rows on the south side of there. I put dry Paris green for perhaps ten rows more then I mixed water with paris green and sprinkled the rest of the patch. Charleys folks were here and so were Ett and the girls. We had a very pleasant visit with them.

Mon June 26 Mostly clear but it was some cloudy and threatning this afternoon. Lew and Kib finished clearing the field above the house. I went to town and took the cream over and done some errands. Meda went along and we got her trunk. We got back about noon and this afternoon I have been fixing fence some and irrigating on the piece towards the barn. A man came here this afternoon late wanting work and we will try him tomorrow and hire him if he suits.

Tues June 27 As clear and as hot as ever but no rain. Lew and Frank Moffat hauled 45 loads and stacked them on Charley Howards place. Kib went to Spring Canion [Canyon] ranch and brought down Old Nell and her colt and raked some after he got back. I mowed all day and cut over a good lot of ground but didnt get much hay.

Wed June 28 Clear and hot and dry as ever. Lew mowed this forenoon and this afternoon he and Frank hauled 2 loads of hay over at Howards. Kib and I set the tyre on the rake this forenoon and this afternoon Kib raked and I mowed.

Thurs June 24 Cloudy most of the day and sprinkled a little a few times. I mowed most of the day shocked a while. Kib raked a while in the morning then he helped the boys haul and this afternoon they came home and shoveled in the lake and got some water and irrigated the strawberries and begun to run some on to the alfalfa north of the house.
