Tues Apr 9
All kinds of a day but it was not very windy. We branded the calves this morning, then the boys hauled hay and I guess that we wont have to haul any more for some time. I attended to irrigating and worked a while in the shop this afternoon.

Wed Apr 10
Clear mostly and quite warm some of the time. Marsh and I went to McGinleys Coal bank to day. We dont think it looks as well as the Courer [Courier] talked about. We think a good many hard days work will be required to get in to the good coal that those men saw but we saw a flask there and I guess that must have helped them to see good coal. Will cleaned out the calf pen etc.

Thurs Apr 11
A pretty general kind of day good and bad streaks all of the way through. Mr Marsh got through this morning and went away I expect he will go to California. Will and I fixed the wagon for hauling manure and he hauled this afternoon. I finished irrigating the piece over on the hill then chored around for the rest of the day when I done anything.

Fri April 12th
Clear still and warm. Will hauled manure. Mrs Dixon was here and made us a visit. I worked at a big headgate to go back of John Howards place.
