AUGUST 14.
Wed
Fine and that is all there was of it.
In the forenoon Lew looked up the job of cutting Hewards
hay. The third cutting the bargain I believe is we are to
irrigate the ground and cut and put it up for half
and Mr Dixon and Will are to rake and haul the hay and
we to cut it. Will Dixon came at noon. Him and Lew cleaned
that straw stack out of the corrall [corral]. I mowed. I finished
the wild meadow and cut some near the house. Bert raked.

AUGUST 15.
Thurs
Fine again and threatened rain some. Lew and Will hauled
four loads of prairy [prairie] hay. Bert raked mostly but hoed
a little. I finished cutting the piece this side
of the house and then put in the rest of the
day cutting on the 10 acre piece East of the
cat fish lake. Got along pretty fine.
