Know all men by these presents that we Thomas C. Atkins, James T Killough, Wade H. Harvey of the County of Choctaw Mississippi are held & firmly bound unto the state of Mississippi in the just & full sum of Five thousand Dollars, the payment of which sum well & truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs executors administrators & assigns jointly severally & firmly by these presents sealed with our seals & dated this 9th day of May 1864. The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound Thomas C. Atkins has been appointed a dispenser of spiritous liquors of for medical purposes in & for the County of Choctaw Miss in accordance with the 17th Sec of the State legislature approved April 5th 1864 entitled "An act to prevent the distilation of spiritous liquors & to declear distilleries to be a public & common nuisances, & to authorize the same to be abated & for other purposes" Now if the said Thomas C Atkins shall faithfully discharge the duties of

dispenser of spiritous liquors for medical purposes in the County of Choctaw, and shall faithfully account & pay over to the State all money arising from the sale of said spirits, and shall also properly dispose of all spiritous liquors placed in his charge; and on the termination of his agency to deliver to the state all liquors &c that has not been previously sold or lawfully disposed of; then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force & virtue.
