I reply to your inquiry relative To The service of Brig Genl Mott. I would most respectfully state that I was the Adjt Genl. of Genl Mott—and that he was Elected by the Convention in Feby. 1861. that he organized a Brigade, and in Command of it went to Pensacola Fla—that he was on duty at Corinth as Brig. Genl. Army of Missi—his Exact time of service I do not know, but I can safely say he was on duty and in active service for two months of the time—he was acting as Brig Genl. of the State in the Army of Missi
