It was under such circumstances, & in such condition of mind, that in an evil moment he was indused to do an act which eventuates in the taking of human life. Let us women of the South—appeal not in vain to Your Clemency for this soldier & patriot. In the Penitentiary he can do no harm—may reform, and in ^after^ years, become a good citizen.
