Fudge Cake
(Copied from Florence's old manuscript)

2/3 c sugar
2/3 c dry cocoa
1/2 c coffee
Boil these until consistency of cold cream.
Flavor with vanilla.
1/2 c. butter
1 c sugar - creamed together
2 eggs
1/2 c coffee
1 tsp. soda dissolved in a
very little hot water
Add 2 scant tsp bak. powder
to 2 c. sifted flour.
Beat well and add first
mixture to it.
Bake in a mod. oven.
Ice with a plain butter
iceing or a fudge frosting.
