the topp of all these herbes pourein 5 gallons
of your strongest Ale; then cover the pott &
let itt stand all night in the place where
you mean to put your fire under itt
and in the morneing, you must put in 2 ounce
of Cloves beaten to powder, and of Saffron
beaten to powder the weight of 2s6d and of
very good harts horne grated or filed to
powder before itt be weighed the weight of
8 ounces you must not stirr itt after, you haue
put in; the harts horne for feare itt should
sink down to the bottome then set itt upon your
Limbeck and stop itt fast down with a peele
of Rie dough and [soe] receiue your water
in pints as you doe any other water you may
receiue 6 partes or some what more the first
is the strongest and must be kept by itt self
and soe by degrees; soe the small may be made
better by some of the strongest when it is used
for the [Jaundies] you must take 2 spoonfulls
of this in a Glass of ordinary beer

For a soare Breast

Take Creame, grated, bread, Redrose leaues
boile itt to a Poultess, when its boiled put in it
a peice of deer suett, then spread itt upon a
Cloath and lay itt to the Soare breast; if itt
will break itt; will break itt and heal itt; if itt
not itt will take away the swelling. Probat:

For a Breast wherein
the Milk is wharled & knotted

Take Linseed oyle Aqua Vitae, and warme itt
bath the breast with itt, and breake the wharles
easily with your finger morneing and evening
then take a little Bees wax and scrape itt[ thinne]
and a little honey, and aqua vitae & melt them
well together; then put in some linseed oyle;
then take a new peice Lockram and cutt a hole
for the nipple & dipp the lockram in itt, & spread itt
and strew a little gross, & soe apply itt warm
