A Receite for a Consumption
Take a Cock & cutt it in 4 Quarters putt it
into an earthen pitcher, & put thereto a pint
of Clarett wine, & half a pint of rose water
toppes, and a handfull of Burrage either leaves
or flowers, 6 dates & a handfull of raisins
of the sunn, put them all into e pott &
stopp itt close then boile them in another pott
some 4 or 5 houres, then lett e partie take
3 or 4 spoonfulls morneing & euening.
Piles to help
Take 5 or 6 good handfulls of older leaves
boile them to tenderness in water then stamp
them with oyle of sweet almonds soe apply
some thereof being made hott againe by e fire
upon a peece of scarlett, still as itt grows cold
put on fresh heate leaves for halfe a hour to=
gether; This is safe though a woman haue them
in lying in Probat
Else Take an Egge roast it
stone hard &, & stamp e Yolk of itt with oile
of Violetts or in stead of t with oyle of Lillies
or Camomile & apply itt hot Probat Mrs Hone

There is noe surer meanes for present ease in a
fitt of e stone either in Bladder or Kidneys then by some
times; which you may thus make. Take Camomile
leaves & lowers, Pellitory of e Wall, mallows and
mellilott of each ii good handfulls, saxafrage; parsley
smalledge, & bettony of each ii handfulls, the roots of
asparagus, fennell parsley & Enula Campana of each
ii ounces, the roots Eringium, commonly called Eringo
