{(No.67)} To Make Bath Cakes

Take a quart of Flower, 1 poundof Butter, 3/4 pound of
Carraway Comfits, six Eggs, but 2 whites, six
spoonfuls of Cream, & 6 Spoonfuls of Yeast,
beat the Cream, Eggs, & Yeast, together, then
Stir it into the flower, with the Butter first
Melted, shake it altogether, & set it befor the
fire a quarter of an Hour, that it may rise
then shake in the Comfits, & make it into
Little round Cakes & Butter the Papers you
put them on

{(No.68)} Poor Knights of Windsor

Take a French roll, & put it into slices,
soak them in sack, then dip them in
Yolks of eggs, & fry them, and serve them
up with butter, & sack, & sugar,

{(No.69)} Custards Boil'd

Take a quart of Cream put it on the fire
with a Blade of mace, some sliced Nutmeg,
& a little Cinnamon, then take the Yolks of
ten Eggs, & beat them well with sugar to your
Tast, keep a Little Cream to beat up with
Your Eggs, when the Cream & spices have
Boiled a little while, then pour some of the
Cream Gently into the Yolks of the Eggs,
Stirring it all the time then pour it all
together, & keep the sauce pan over the fire
till it thickens, then strain it through a
hair seive & put in a Glass of Brandy
then put it in to your Cups,
