A Receipt to Clean Plate

2 ounces of Burnt Hartshorn,
to 2 Quarts of Water & Boil it till
the third part is Boild away then Dip
in a peice of old Damask or Diaper
& boil it in it a Quarter of an Hour
then take it out, & Drain, & let it dry
The Liquor that is left may be Bottled
up for use.

To make a Red dye

To two ounces of Brazil, put a small peice
of Allum, boil it for half an Hour

A Purple Dye

A quarter of a Pound of Logwood, & a
little Allum, boild for half an Hour

A Blue Dye

Mix Logwood & [verdigrease],
Boil it half an Hour
