A Receipt For a uiolent Burninge
Feuer with a Loosenes
Take a pinte of plantane water & fortie filbert nut kernels
Beate them in a stone morter: & put a little of said water
toe the kernells and soe by degrees beate them all with
a little red rose water: and harde suger then lett patient
drinke of it as often as hee will; if you cannot gett
filberts then take other small nuts or almonds; and fast
an houre after it

A Soverane drinke for a feavor to be
given in hight of it
Take 4 sponfulls of fare watter 3 sponfulls of
red rose vinagar iuce of a greatte lemond or 2
small ons giue it to paitent to drinke
An aproved drincke for one that is with
Child & hath a burning feavor to Colle & Comfort
Take a quart of nuw milke boyle it & put therto
halfe a pinte of Endive watter & 2 sponfulls of
white wine uinagar make a poset therof & let
paitent drinke therof in morning & after
none & at night when she goeth to bed
A drinck for hectiaue feauer or any other feauor
Take nettell topes cleavers dandelion elder budes colts-
foote mayden haire of each a good handfull boyl all
thes in a pottell of good alle till it come to 3 pints
n sweaten it with a quarter of a pound of sugar
good honey & give partey to drinke at any tyme

Toe kill a wild fire or inflamation
Take halfe a pound of unsleckt lyme and put it into fiue
pints of Ru ninge water and if it will not dissolue therein
dipp it a little into a little hott water and then put it into
other water againe & it will dissolue, take a linnen
cloth & dipp it into the said water and bathe soare there
with as often as you shall see good
To take away feaver
Take of Elderne leaves 2 handfulls heat 2 tills hot then put
& then apply it hot to soles of feet of party
An approoued glister
Take a pinte of milke, Coliander seeds cuming seed & anniseed
of each an ounce, bruised, & when it is boyled halfe away
streyne it then take yelke of a new laid egge and 3 or 4
ounces of Red suger and one ounce and halfe of sirrup of violetts
with a thimble full of common salt dissolued by stirring, when
you haue streyned milke put them together and use them
as a glister & if it worke not well you may with the
sirrup of violetts ad an ounce of sirrup of Roses
Toe make a Restringent glister
Take a pinte of new milke quench it 2 or 3 times with a
gad of steele, then put it ouer fire & boyle it a little
away then put into it one spoonefull of the powder of red
Roses, boyle it againe a little more & streyne it and putt
thereunto one ounce of ordinary suger
A glister for a weake bodey whose bowells are
emptey it is streingthening as well as working
paitent may take it being neversoe weake
Take 3 quartes of runing watter put it into a pipkin
with a nuw kild sheeps head shoped all to peces as it comes
from buchers put allso therin a handfull of malowes
& pellotery of some of wall mallowes roots halfe a handfull of
Mercuery 2 handfulles of Villots with some of roots
put halfe a sponfull of Coriander seeds as much Caraway
seeds 3 quarters of a sponfull of Commin seeds & aneysedse
boyle thes till ther be but 3 pintes of liqor remaining
n straine it all put therto 3 sponfulls of sallot oyle
& 2 sponsfull of sugar give it a litell hoter n milke

soe much as is here prescribed will sarue for 3 tymes
let it be giuen euery each other day
