To sweeten the blood

Take 3 pints of watter & boyle it to a quart then put in a
pint of milke & boyle it & skime it & so drinke it insteed
of beer.

A drink to sweeten the blood good for itchings
or leperosie or kings evell by Do Lower

Take a pound of Dock roots, & as much dandelion & 3 handfulls
of harts toung & 3 of elder flowers half a pound of crud Antimony
brok into peices the docke roots must be dryed & sliced & the dandelion
dryed then put this into 4 galonds of small ale wn it is working
& as soon as it is clear drinke it, if you pleas you may put in
4 handfulls of ground Iuey, you must drinke no other drinke if it
be for a year or less as you like.

To make a Sirrop of Violette
or any other Floores

Take the Violetts & pike them, from the whites, then weigh
them, take to an ounce of violetts twelve times the weight
in Water, put the water into a cleane Pan set it on the fire
let it be almost at boyling and let the Violetts be put into
an earthen Pott, when the water is hott put it to the violetts
& stirre them well together, and tye them close up with a
peece of leather next to the Pott and paper above the leather
lett them stand by the fire in a constant heate two dayes
before you streine them, set them upon Embers; whilst all
the coulour be out; when you have streined it take to a Gill
of this Juce, 3 quarters of a pound of loafe Sugar finely
beaten, to put into the Juce, so stirre it & set it upon
Embers till it be thicke, take of the Scumme, & so take
it off the fire and stirre it till it be cold; and then put
it in a Glasse and keepe for your use.

To make surope of Reasons

Take your rasons & pres them or beate them & straine
them then putt your juce into a glass violle & let it
stand 9 or 10 dayes & it will worke out all the drose
& your juce will be cleare then you must power it out
carfulley through a strainer not sufering any of
the botom to goe in & to every pinte of the juce
you must take 2 pound of sugar beate it very
smalle & putt it to your juce then putt it upon the
fyer in a kettell of watter untill all your sugar
be melted & the scume rise you must not let it
boyle for if you doe it will Candy

To make a Sirrop of Violetts

Take 4 oz of Violetts the whits beinge cutt of putt them into
halfe a pinte of scaldinge runninge water and lett
them stand all night close covered strayned in the morning
and sett itt on a Chafin dish of coals and putt unto
itt 3 pound of fine loafe sugar by little and little
thoroughly melted then skimme itt cleane and putt itt
up the best way is to sun itt in the summer to dis=
solve the sugar

To make syrup of Violets

Take your violets ready picket and stamp them a little, then take faire water &
let it boyle a while then put the violets into a pot of Silver or Stone pipken wth
a cover and put soe much of that boyled water as will cover them & so let the flowres
infuse in the water being close covered till the couler is soaked out of the
leaves and they look white then straine them and take some what more Sugar
than the weight of the violets your sugar being finly beaten mix the sugar
& licqur together and put it into a pot of boyling water one houre and
let it be close covred then power your Surrup into a Skilit and let it
boyle 2 or 3 walmes then put it up for your use.
