To prevent Abortion an Aproved
Plaister Called the Countes of Moulgraves

Take galengall one ounce, bole of Armenia, Sanguis draconis,
terra sigillata, of each 30 graines, of mastick & of myrrh
of each a drame, make all these into finn powder wth halfe
an ounce of Ciprrus nutes beate into powder & worke it into
a past, wth Juce of mirrhe, & mugwort, thn ade halfe an ounce
of red sanders finly powdered, & wax as much as will sufice
to make soft the plaister

A Receipt to prevent miscarrying sent to
my sister Cartwright by her neice the Duchesse of
Buckingham

Take the streames of 30 egges Spodium one ounce 24 leaves of gold,
mix all these together; give the patient one third part of this
medicine at one tyme fasting; fast about 3 howrs after, Take
the other 2 parts after the same manner, for 3 mornings together
wn you give this medicine inwardly apply a plaister to the back
of the patient, made of Emp: ad=hernium & Emp Mastick
of each a like quantity mixed together & to the belly of the
patient lay a plaister of Cypress Turpentin, upon the
nauell, the breath of the palm of your hand, lay upon the nauell
a little lint about the breath of 6d under the plaister, continue thm
20 dayes & wn they grow dry renew them

apply it the part so affected as warme as they can bear it
this hath helped in half an howers tyme
