An Exellent Receipt to stay thye flowers
in women if they come immodratly

Take thye feete of an hare & burne them upon a Chafindish
of Charcoll & when they are well burned beat thym to fine
powder thyn take a pinte of red wine burne it with dubell
refined sugar thyn take as much of thye forsayd powder as will
lye upon a 6pence & put it into a litell draught of thye
wine & soe let thye paitent drincke it morning & evening
for thye space of 9 or 10 dayes & it helpth with gods blesing

For thye staying off thye flowers when they
immodarat often aproved

Take as much prepared Corall as will lye upon a tow pence
& as much bollearmerick finly beaten & searsed as will
lye upon a groat mixe it with a litell draught of red
wine mixt with Consarue of red roses & soe let thye paitent
drinke it first & last & it helpeth spedeley you may
giue it to a woman nuwly dillevered & it stayeth thye [flixes]

The red hollihok thye flowers therof boyled in red wine
& drunke doth stay thye ouer much flowing of thym

For thos wch are apt to miscarry

spread suett upon a litle peice of whit leather & lay it on thye
nauell & wear it continually spread a litle wax about thye edges
to make it stick fast

To bring downe them when they stope in
young maides

Take 3 Gallons of Alewort put to it 3 good handfulls of white horehound
boyle it well in the wort when it is cold enough then put barme to it & let
thye [herbe/hirte] lye in it till it be barmed enough, & when you tun it up take out the
herbes out of the wort and let it be 10 dayes old before you drinke it drinke
a littell pot full in the morning and another at 4 a clock in the afternoon

Another for the same

Take a quart of Sack a handfull of Chery tre leaves ¼ [ounce] of grose beaten
peper boyle these in thye sack till one quarter be boyled away then power it
out into something to keep & take 3 spoonfulls in the morning fasting, 3
spoonfulls after diner & as much at night when you goe to bed cold when its
boyled one quarter away strain the leaves out of it very hard that no vertue
remaine behind & keep it close stopt in a bottell
