A Gister for the Gripes without loosenes
A little new milk and browne sugar
For all sorts of paines or Impedims in ye Head
Take Hissop Ros.mary violets Gervin: Betony HerbJohn Mousiare Evangi plantane Sage featherfew of each an handfull & stamp them & then infuse them in a gallon of whit wine then distill them the next day that water is good for any dropsy Impostine or [Inegerin] or any other Impedims of ach in the head whatsoever taking a glass fasting in ye morning.

The flower of [Salnes]
Take Rosin & pearosin of each 1/2 [th] virgins was & frankinsense of each 4 oz mastick 1 oz hartstallow 4 oz 1 oz of Mibainum Camphire 2 drams Melt that which is to be Melted & powder that wc is to be powdered boile all these together till they are slowly melted then strain it throw a Canvas strainer into 2 quarts of whitwine boile all together & lit it stand till it be bload warm then put to it a qter of a pound of terpentins stirring it continually till it be throw cold, be sure it be no more then bloud warm when you put in the terpentine & Camphire for if it be it will marr all your stuffe when it is throw cold oyle your hands & make it into Rolls & keep it as a pure Salve for all kind of wounds & sores new or old It cures fistulas the Knigs Evell & sinews shrank driws out splinters of broken bones hials the wound & binds good flesh

For a numb palsey
Take mustard seed pinpernell crowfoot & a [slot of mastick] all these will bruised & mixed with the bloud of a goat & put thereto good Allegire a little & so let them stand 3 daies & then put them under the Cap of a Shillory & still it This watr will help a man of the stone if he drink proof evry day fasting the stone shall avoid from him as it were Sand [Thru] this water drank fasting in ye Castory destroyeth all maner of pasley if it be not dead in the sinews or members It heals scald heads & makes the hairs grow if washt [piriwig] If a man be scalded wash him with this water & in 9 dayes he shal be whole of all other medicines it comforteth the sinews for the palsey

For the [Phrinsy] & [Tissick]
Take yong pidgions make them into powder & medle them will with Castory & a little Aysill a little of the powder of [Eldeampane & Gormandirs] dried in the shade and infuse them in a quart of black chirry water then distill the water & this water drank fasting helpes the frensy & tissick within 9 days it will help them [Thu] this water cureth the falling sickness if the [plon] have not had it long giving it them 3 dayes before the full of the moon & 3 days after anointing the nostrills & Temples with the spirit of Castor & Juniper abstaining from all salt meats & things that be of hard decoction These things with Gods assistance will cure and in a months time you will find the benefit

for grips x aproved remedy yt cureth speedyly
Take a pound of mutton suett & 3 pints of spring watter boyle it together & take of it a quarter of a pint of it 3 or 4 tymes a day they must melt ue fat wth

For all maner of Sores in the Eyes a precious water
Take the Rootes of piony the Crops of red ffennell Egrimoy honysuckle Salendine Rue Chickweed Pimpernell Philipendula the tendor leaves of a red vine Smalledge Euphrase sowthistle Red roses strawbery leaves vervin & cinqfoils & sage and betony of each a like quantity about half a handfull wash them clean & stamp them small Add thereto half an ounce of Lapiscalaminaris & a qtr of an ounce of the powder of [Tully] and put thereto a qtr of a pint of womens brestmilk that doth nurse a manchild & about 2 spoonfulls of urine of a man child about a yeare old & as much honey & let them stand 3 dayes and then distill it in a Shillory and keep well this water in a glass vessell that no ayre come thereto and when you use this water to wash your eyes therewith This will cure any man that hath sore eyes in a short time with Gods assistance.

Mrs Lees Receipt of [Florenguentoad] [1 egg:] this is ye white wch [shest] is best
of Rozin and parrozin of each half a pound deersuet virgins wax & Frankinsins of each a qtr of a pound Mastick 1 ounce Camphire 2 drams pure Turpentine 4 ounces let your Rozin parrozin and mastick be beat into fine powder & sifted each by themselves then take the suet & wax & melt them on a soft fire in a new pipkin keeping them continually stirring till they be milke then put in the Frankinsens & when that is melted put in your powders still stirring them till all be dissolved then strain them throw a fair Canvas into a pottle of whitwine being made hott in a clean earthen pipkin: then let it boile together till more than half the wine be consumed keeping it continually stirring then take it from the fire & let it reste untill it be but bloud warm then put in yor Turpentine & your Camphire & keep it continually stirring til it be cold & wilbe taken up in a Lump then make it up into Rolls & keep it for use it is the most precious salve that can be made it will hold good 20 years.
The Camphire must be beat into powder before you put it in & you must oyle yor hands with the best oyle of olive when you make it up [as] it will stick to them all things in ys cost 5: [sh] made 1699

The virtue
This salve is good for all sores & wounds old or new it cleaneth & healeth very well it ingendreth flesh & healeth more in 7 days then others in a month it suffeth no [Cornpson] nor proud flesh to ingender therein It is good for the Head ach or swimming in the Braine or for Impostums in ye head or body and for all maner of aches or sprains It drawes out anythorne or broken bone out of any wound It is very good for any biting or stinging of any venemous beast It drawe to healeth all manner of botches & boiles It is very good for a Cancer or [worst] in the breast It draweth all manner of paines out of the Liver beines or Spleene being spread upon shet of leather & aplied to ye grieved place It is good to make a [seircloth] for the Gout being spread thick upon sheeps [leater] & not recmoved in 9 or 10 days it healeth any pistilentiall botch & is good to be taken in pills for ye spleen or for any inward blede.

Take a nutmeg beat it to powder & then take a new laid egge & put out ye white & put ye powder of ye nutmeg into ye shell to ye yelk & so bake ye ege in an oven wth bread seting it in ashes yt it may stand & it will come out in a ball wch you may keep as long as you will & take of it in ale or wt you will as much as will lye on a 6d.

To stop ye coming down of ye tearms by a […] wife
if they flow immoderatly take a greasy dish cloth & boyle it in a pinte of milke & so apply it as hot as she can bear & as it cooles heat it again & so doe 4 tymes for 3 or 4 mornings together & if they stop let blood 10 or 11 ounces

To bring ym down in young maids
let them take Roman wormwood gentian roots Cammamile flowers Cetury & boyle a good quantity of ye dryed herbs in a quart of strong bere or Ayle & a quart of comon table bear mixed together & drink half a pint, morning & after none & this doth help them
